The Designer/Drafter is responsible for preparing detailed electrical and structural drawings, schematics, and layouts to support engineering and field service projects. This role translates conceptual designs and technical information into accurate CAD drawings and models that comply with industry standards, client specifications, and company procedures. The Designer/Drafter works closely with engineers, project managers, and field teams to ensure drawings are clear, accurate, and practical for installation and construction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and revise CAD drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-line diagrams for electrical power systems projects
• Prepare substation layouts, panel layouts, conduit/cable schedules, grounding plans, and related design documents
• Collaborate with engineers to translate design concepts into accurate, constructible drawings
• Maintain drawing databases, version control, and project documentation per company standards
• Review drawings for accuracy, compliance with client specifications, and adherence to industry standards (ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NETA, etc.)
• Assist in preparing bills of materials (BOMs), drawing packages, and documentation for client submittals
• Support field teams with design clarifications and redline updates during project execution
• Ensure all designs comply with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
• Participate in project meetings to coordinate design deliverables and timelines
• Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors/vendors to resolve design issues
• Provide drafting support for proposals, as-builts, and record documentation
• Assist with quality control checks to ensure accuracy and constructability of drawings
• Other duties as required

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Drafting/Design, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
• 5+ years of design or CAD drafting experience, ideally in power/utility, substation, or industrial projects
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar CAD software (Revit experience a plus)
• Familiarity with electrical one-lines, schematics, and civil/structural layouts
• Familiarity with power distribution, substation design, or industrial electrical systems preferred
• Knowledge of utility codes and standards, (NEC, NESC, IEEE, NETA) and relevant codes is strongly preferred
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines
• Effective communication and teamwork skills

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally (drawing sets, laptops, equipment)
• Ability to move about in office and field environments, including navigating client facilities, construction sites, and substations when required
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders, walk across uneven terrain, and stand for extended periods during site visits
• Manual dexterity to operate drafting tools, computer equipment, and office machinery
• Visual acuity to read and produce detailed technical drawings and documents

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Determine and define project scope, deliverables, milestones, and resource requirements in alignment with customer specifications

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, execution plans, and risk registers

• Track scope deviations, manage contract adjustments, and formulate project change orders

• Perform ongoing quality control and quality assurance across all stages of project execution

• Ensure all field teams and subcontractors adhere strictly to safety protocols and regulatory standards (OSHA, NFPA 70E, NEC)

• Maintain accurate field records, daily activity logs, testing data, and timesheets within project management platforms

• Conduct job walks, site audits, and field meetings to verify installation progress, testing parameters, and job-site readiness

• Forecast equipment, tool, and labor requirements to optimize resource utilization across active projects

• Identify and mitigate operational and labor risks arising from weather conditions, site readiness, or resource constraints

• Partner with HR and Safety teams to support onboarding, verify site-specific qualifications, and maintain compliance training records

• Provide regular, structured status reports covering project progress, schedule adjustments, strategy, and financials

• Lead project kickoff, progress, and closeout meetings; document key deliverables and capture lessons learned

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical field experience)

• 2–5 years of project management or coordination experience within electrical engineering, power systems commissioning, or industrial construction environments

• Working knowledge of low, medium, and high-voltage power systems, electrical testing, and commissioning procedures

• PMP certification (or active progress toward certification) is preferred

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); working familiarity with project scheduling tools (MS Project, Primavera) and field management systems

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

The Low-Medium Voltage Maintenance Technician / Electrician performs technical and electrical work focused on the inspection, preventative maintenance, repair, and ongoing reliability of low-to-medium voltage power distribution equipment and industrial electrical apparatus (up to 15kV). This role ensures the uninterrupted operation of facility distribution systems through expert diagnostics, routine servicing, and physical troubleshooting rather than new installation testing. This position also provides guidance to junior technicians and assists in optimizing existing preventative maintenance programs

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance, thorough inspections, and corrective repairs on low-to-medium voltage electrical apparatus, including switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, switchboards, and motor control centers (MCCs)

• Perform routine equipment servicing such as breaker racking, contact dressing, cleaning, insulation resistance (Megger) testing, secondary injection testing, and relay operational checks

• Diagnose and repair complex electrical and electromechanical malfunctions using multimeters, power analyzers, thermal imaging, and wiring schematics to restore power distribution systems safely

• Read and interpret electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematic drawings, control wiring diagrams, and manufacturer maintenance manuals

• Maintain clear and accurate maintenance logs, inspection findings, test results, and service histories within the asset management system

• Lead field maintenance operations while maintaining strict adherence to safe work practices, arc-flash protection, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols in accordance with NFPA 70E

• Collaborate with facility engineers and system operations to schedule maintenance outages and minimize operational downtime

• Assist in developing and refining preventative electrical maintenance schedules, standardized procedures, and safety guidelines

• Train and mentor apprentice electricians and technicians in maintenance techniques, electrical diagnostics, and field safety practices

• Respond to critical equipment failures, power outages, and electrical emergencies outside of normal operating hours as needed

REQUIREMENTS

• Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Power Systems, or a related field (equivalent military, industrial utility experience, or electrician apprenticeship/journeyman training accepted)

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in low-to-medium voltage (up to 15kV) electrical maintenance, equipment servicing, and system troubleshooting

• Demonstrated experience working with industrial power distribution apparatus, switchgear, and routine maintenance test equipment

• Journeyman Electrician License, NICET Electrical Power Testing/Maintenance Certification, or equivalent preferred

• OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) certifications preferred

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required

• Strong knowledge of low-and-medium voltage distribution systems, switchgear operations, motor controls, and circuit breaker mechanics

• Proficiency with standard maintenance diagnostics tools (e.g., insulation resistance testers, thermal cameras, secondary injection test sets, multimeters)

• Solid understanding of electrical safety codes and standards, specifically NEC and NFPA 70E

• Strong mechanical aptitudes and logical troubleshooting skills with attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and lead small maintenance crews in the field under minimal supervision

• Effective written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and crew leadership

• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs

• Perform physical electrical labor, including climbing ladders, standing for extended periods, and operating hand/power tools

• Work outdoors in various weather conditions and within industrial environment spaces

• Travel up to 75% nationwide (including regular driving and commercial flights)

• Must be able to work overtime and extended out-of-town stays as needed

This role owns core accounts receivable and accounts payable activities, supports accurate transaction and job-cost coding, and partners with Project Managers and internal teams to improve billing, collections, cash flow, and financial reporting

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounts Receivable and Billing

• Review contract billing terms and customer requirements before invoicing

• Compile complete billing packages, including purchase orders, timesheets, expense reports, certified payroll reports, and other required supporting documents

• Issue customer invoices accurately and on schedule; track submission and delivery status

• Monitor accounts receivable aging, follow up on past-due balances, and provide regular collections updates

• Work with Project Managers to resolve billing questions, documentation gaps, and customer payment issues

• Identify recurring invoicing errors and improve billing-package accuracy and timeliness

Accounts Payable

• Monitor invoices received through approved submission channels
• Review vendor invoices for accuracy, authorization, contract compliance, supporting documentation, and appropriate project or cost-center coding
• Enter vendor bills into QuickBooks and coordinate approval and payment processing in accordance with company policies and payment schedules
• Reconcile vendor statements and investigate and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies

Accounting Controls and Transaction Coding

• Assist with month-end activities and reconciliations related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, employee expenses, and project billing
• Review and code vendor invoices, employee expenses, and bank and credit-card transactions to the appropriate general ledger account in accordance with the company chart of accounts and accounting policies
• Verify the appropriate customer or job, project, department or class, and location to support accurate job costing and financial reporting
• Identify and resolve missing, inconsistent, or “Not Specified” coding before month-end close, obtaining clarification and supporting documentation as needed
• Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready electronic support for accounting transactions
• Identify process improvements that strengthen accuracy, timeliness, cash flow, and accountability
• Support the Controller and finance team with reporting, audits, and special projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered
• Three or more years of experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, collections, or general accounting
• Experience in engineering, construction, electrical services, professional services, or another project-based environment preferred
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsof required; experience with expense-management or payroll systems is a plus
• Understanding of project accounting, job-cost coding, invoice documentation, reconciliations, and basic accounting controls
• Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and ability to manage competing deadlines

• Lead and perform substation engineering and design for utility transmission and distribution projects, including voltage classes typically ranging from 13.8 kV through 500 kV
• Develop, review, and approve substation physical design deliverables, including general arrangements, one-line diagrams, grounding plans, conduit and cable routing plans, equipment layouts, elevations, sections, details, and bills of material

• Support protection and control design coordination, including relay panel layouts, control schematics, wiring diagrams, relay settings coordination, and interface requirements
• Ensure engineering deliverables comply with client standards, utility practices, applicable codes, and industry standards such as IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NESC, NFPA, and NERC requirements where applicable
• Provide technical leadership during project planning, design reviews, constructability reviews, outage planning, commissioning, and field issue resolution
• Review vendor drawings, contractor submittals, equipment data, test reports, and construction documentation for technical accuracy and compliance with project requirements
• Respond to RFIs, support site visits, resolve field conflicts, and provide engineering support during construction, testing, energization, and closeout
• Prepare engineering scopes of work, design criteria, project schedules, estimates, technical proposals, and level-of-effort assumptions for utility projects
• Mentor junior engineers and designers by reviewing work products, providing technical guidance, and promoting quality, safety, and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program; power systems emphasis preferred
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in substation engineering, utility power delivery, or high-voltage electrical infrastructure design
• Professional Engineering License (preferred) in a US State that through reciprocity can be transferred to any US state
• Demonstrated experience developing substation physical design packages for utility clients
• Strong knowledge of substation equipment, configurations, clearances, grounding, bus arrangements, station service, control buildings, and constructability requirements
• Familiarity with applicable codes and standards, including IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NESC, NFPA, and utility-specific design standards
• Ability to lead technical design reviews, coordinate across disciplines, and manage multiple project priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface professionally with clients, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
• Proficiency reviewing drawings and engineering deliverables prepared in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar design platforms

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience with both AIS and GIS substations, including greenfield and brownfield modifications
• Experience with grounding analysis software such as CDEGS, WinIGS, or similar tools
• Experience with power system study tools such as ETAP, ASPEN, SKM, CYME, or similar software
• Experience supporting utility-scale renewable energy interconnections, battery energy storage systems, grid modernization, or transmission expansion projects
• Knowledge of protection and control principles, relay coordination, SCADA integration, and commissioning support.
• Experience preparing proposals, engineering estimates, design schedules, and technical clarifications for utility clients
