Job Summary:

The Designer/Drafter is responsible for preparing detailed electrical and structural drawings, schematics, and layouts to support engineering and field service projects. This role translates conceptual designs and technical information into accurate CAD drawings and models that comply with industry standards, client specifications, and company procedures. The Designer/Drafter works closely with engineers, project managers, and field teams to ensure drawings are clear, accurate, and practical for installation and construction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and revise CAD drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-line diagrams for electrical power systems projects.
• Prepare substation layouts, panel layouts, conduit/cable schedules, grounding plans, and related design documents.
• Collaborate with engineers to translate design concepts into accurate, constructible drawings.
• Maintain drawing databases, version control, and project documentation per company standards.
• Review drawings for accuracy, compliance with client specifications, and adherence to industry standards (ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NETA, etc.).
• Assist in preparing bills of materials (BOMs), drawing packages, and documentation for client submittals.
• Support field teams with design clarifications and redline updates during project execution.
• Ensure all designs comply with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in project meetings to coordinate design deliverables and timelines.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors/vendors to resolve design issues.
• Provide drafting support for proposals, as-builts, and record documentation.
• Assist with quality control checks to ensure accuracy and constructability of drawings.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Drafting/Design, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 5+ years of design or CAD drafting experience, ideally in power/utility, substation, or industrial projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar CAD software (Revit experience a plus).
• Familiarity with electrical one-lines, schematics, and civil/structural layouts.
• Familiarity with power distribution, substation design, or industrial electrical systems preferred.
• Knowledge of utility codes and standards, (NEC, NESC, IEEE, NETA) and relevant codes is strongly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

 

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Technical Oversight

• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary technical team of engineers, designers, and technicians.

Business Development Manager – Power Delivery Sector

Location: Houston, TX preferred or Remote

Reports To: Executive VP, Sales, Marketing and Project Management

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities aligned with LND’s strategic goals. This role will focus on expanding relationships with Investor-Owned Utilities, Municipalities, Renewable Developers, Industrial Clients and Contractors, while strengthening LND’s market presence in the engineering and field services sector. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in the power delivery sector, understands the technical and operational aspects of engineering and field services, and excels at building long-term client relationships.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Sales

• Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities within LND’s target markets.
• Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue goals.
• Respond to RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs with technically accurate and competitive proposals.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with leadership’s support and in alignment with company goals and profitability targets.

 

Client Relationship Management

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at Investor-Owned Utilities, Municipalities, Renewable Developers, Industrial Clients and Contractors.
• Conduct regular client meetings to identify needs, potential solutions, and ensure satisfaction.
• Serve as the primary liaison between clients and internal project teams to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.

 

Market & Industry Analysis

• Monitor industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to identify emerging opportunities.
• Represent LND at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
• Provide leadership with regular reports on business development activities, pipeline status, and market intelligence.

 

Collaboration & Internal Coordination

• Work closely with engineering, operations, and project management teams to ensure technical accuracy in proposals.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop new service offerings and market strategies.
• Support marketing initiatives, including content creation, branding, and campaign execution.

 

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of business development or sales experience in engineering, construction, power systems, or industrial services.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Strong understanding of medium- to high-voltage systems, switchgear, substations, and related services.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 50% or more.
• Must be able to work legally in the US.

 

Preferred:

• Experience working with NETA-certified service providers, EPC contractors, or utility clients.
• Technical background in electrical engineering or power systems.
• Existing network of contacts in LND’s target industries.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Perform general office duties including answering phones, scanning, filing, and managing correspondence, order office supplies, PPE, and maintaining inventory 
• Manage travel arrangements, meeting scheduling, and shipping logistics 
• Serve as point-of-contact for internal communications and administrative requests 
• Support document creation and formatting, including project folders, reports, and manuals 
• Assist with internal recordkeeping, data entry, and digital file organization 
• Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents as needed

Additional Duties:

• Assist field teams with scheduling, supply needs, and report coordination 
• Assist in organizing special events, i.e.: monthly birthday celebrations, holiday events, etc. 
• Act as backup for other administrative roles as needed 
• Perform other duties as assigned by management 

 

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in business, accounting, or related field preferred 
• 2–5 years of relevant administrative work experience
• Accounting experience preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); QuickBooks experience a plus  
• Prior experience with timekeeping, software applications, or cost control systems a plus
